Hello! My name is Chantal Corbett. I have completed a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology Program (Yorkville University). I am currently a Registered Counselling Therapist-C, with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. I have experience working with clients at an individual and familial level for 10 years. My personal and professional life has broadened my horizons when it comes to providing therapeutic services.
I would identify myself as an empath, who works from a trauma informed lens, incorporating numerous modalities and interventions to therapy, as well as exploring trauma through an emotion focused scope. I strive to build a healthy and trusting therapeutic relationship with my clients, while setting healthy boundaries.
My role as a therapist would be to primarily help others navigate through their personal challenges. I thrive in meeting client’s where they are at and developing a treatment plan together. During my time as a social worker, my desire to provide individualized therapy became evident. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I enjoy relaxing over a hot cup of coffee or tea. I also enjoy practicing mindfulness and mediation near the ocean! Being born and raised in Cape Breton, the ocean helps me with grounding. I look forward to meeting and working with my future clients, while assisting them and their families navigate their therapeutic journey.
